Registered Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager (Fostering) to join Futures for Children Limited, an established independent fostering agency based in South East London and covering the South East Region.  

Futures for Children Limited, which is part of a wider group of fostering agencies, the Futures for Children group of companies, provide a flexible, caring and imaginative foster care service and an opportunity for all our children and young people to become valued members of society.  The safeguarding of and promoting best possible outcomes for the children and young people in our care are our priority. 

The Registered Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the business including recruitment, training and support of foster carers across South East London and the Southern Region, supervision of staff to managing a regional budget and the drafting of tender submissions with support. The role will also involve monitoring of H&S related tasks to comply with current legislation and our contracts with local authorities.

 The successful Registered Manager will:

  • Hold HCPC registration
  • Be a qualified social worker and possess extensive experience, ideally with a fostering background setting
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of child care practice and legislation, including the Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards
  • Either hold or be willing to enrol on a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification and be prepared to undertake the Ofsted Fit Person process with within the first 6 months of appointment if not currently
  • Be self-motivated, able to work on personal initiative and be an effective decision maker with a commitment to high professional standards
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills

Futures for Children is committed to the safeguarding and protection of the children and young people in its care. For this reason the successful candidate will be expected to consent to a rigorous checking process before appointment including Disclosure &Barring Service, Local Authority and Ofsted checks. You will also undergo a safer recruitment interview before a start date is negotiated.

 If you are not the holder of a current UK passport you will be required to provide evidence that you have the right to live and work in the UK indefinitely.
