Fostering Teenagers
Fostering Teenagers
Looked-After-Children come from all different backgrounds and we try very hard to match them with foster carers who reflect their identities, which is why we need foster carers of all kinds of backgrounds and beliefs.
Whether you provide short-term, long-term or respite care, your support and guidance will have a positive impact on the rest of a young person’s life.
There are often misconceptions about fostering older children, but they are just the same as any other teenager and require love and support from a caring adult.
Young people in care will have come from troubled backgrounds which can sometimes result in challenging behaviour.
However, you will receive 24/7 specialist support from our Social Work team and essential training, so you feel confident enough to tackle anything.
Fostered teenagers are at a fundamental stage of life, on the verge of independence, and your guidance and support can help them make the best transition into adulthood.
We're pleased that you would like to register your interest in fostering with Futures Group.
We're always looking for foster carers from different cultural, religious and racial backgrounds, single people, couples (whether married or living together, with or without children).
Together we can make a difference in children's lives.
We are a company built by those who know fostering best; Foster Carers, Supervising Social Workers and Looked- After- Children."

I grew up in Newcastle and my family still live there, so my links with the North East are still strong.
I moved to London as a teenager and met my husband there, we lived happily in London, our four children were born and grew up in London, they are now adults. We recently welcomed our first grandchild. As a family, we moved to the countryside in 2010 and have comfortably adapted to rural life.
I have worked in a fostering environment for eighteen years. For thirteen years I managed a contact service for "looked after children" most of whom lived in the foster homes of the agency I worked for. This involved liaising with birth parents, family members, foster carers and social workers, to ensure that contact was a positive experience for the children.
Five years ago the agency I worked for became part of Futures Group and I've continued to work with them in fostering.
Please feel free to call me at a time to suit you. I'm always pleased to talk about fostering, its challenges and its rewards.
I look forward to hearing from you!
