Switching or transferring foster care providers is a daunting task. We won’t sugarcoat the facts; it’s a decision we know you won’t take lightly. But when you are ready, Futures for Children are here for you every step of the way.
We can help you find out whether transferring to us would be the right move for you and any young people which you may already be looking after.
Moving to another foster care provider is an important decision, and you need to carefully weigh up all the advantages and disadvantages.
If you do decide to transfer to us we’ll sort out as much of the paperwork as possible to make the process straightforward for you.
If you feel that your existing providers are not giving you the right level of support, feel isolated or undervalued, then speak to us about becoming part of our family.
We are committed to working with you to help children get a better chance in life.
We're pleased that you would like to register your interest in fostering with Futures Group.
We're always looking for foster carers from different cultural, religious and racial backgrounds, single people, couples (whether married or living together, with or without children).
Together we can make a difference in children's lives.
I grew up in Newcastle and my family still live there, so my links with the North East are still strong.
I moved to London as a teenager and met my husband there, we lived happily in London, our four children were born and grew up in London, they are now adults. We recently welcomed our first grandchild. As a family, we moved to the countryside in 2010 and have comfortably adapted to rural life.
I have worked in a fostering environment for eighteen years. For thirteen years I managed a contact service for "looked after children" most of whom lived in the foster homes of the agency I worked for. This involved liaising with birth parents, family members, foster carers and social workers, to ensure that contact was a positive experience for the children.
Five years ago the agency I worked for became part of Futures Group and I've continued to work with them in fostering.
Please feel free to call me at a time to suit you. I'm always pleased to talk about fostering, its challenges and its rewards. I look forward to hearing from you.
